Itinerary
Day 1: Konstanz — Friedrichshafen
The tour begins in the picturesque town of Konstanz on Lake Constance, where the Rhine joins the lake. After a short stroll through the historic old town, the route leads along the shore of Lake Constance towards Friedrichshafen. You cycle through charming villages and orchards, always accompanied by a view of the turquoise waters of Lake Constance and the Alps on the horizon. On the way, it is worth stopping in Meersburg to explore the medieval castle and the region's wine-growing. The stage ends in Friedrichshafen, known for the Zeppelin Museum, which provides exciting insights into the history of airship travel. Here you can end the day with a stroll along the promenade.
At the beginning of the day, Track 2 makes a detour to the islands of Mainau, known for its large parks and gardens, and the largest island in Lake Constance, Reichenau.
Day 2: Friedrichshafen — Immenstadt
On the second day we cycle from Friedrichshafen through the hilly Allgäu. The route takes you over gentle climbs and wide meadow landscapes, always accompanied by the panorama of the Allgäu Alps. In Wangen im Allgäu it is worth stopping in the well-preserved old town with its pretty half-timbered houses. The route continues through idyllic villages and past lush pastures. The day ends in Immenstadt, a charming place on the Great Alpsee. Here you can enjoy the lake or spend a relaxing evening in the historic city center.
Track 2 takes an additional detour to the north after Wangen, resulting in a cycle route that is around 20 km longer with around 250 additional meters of elevation.
Day 3: Immenstadt — Füssen
From Immenstadt, the comparatively short route leads through the heart of the Allgäu, past green alpine meadows, clear streams and the region's striking mountains. The highlight of this stage is the arrival in Füssen, where the famous Neuschwanstein Castle rises majestically on a hill. On the way there, you pass small villages and repeatedly come across herds of cows and traditionally painted farmhouses. Once you arrive in Füssen, you can explore the picturesque old town or take a tour of Neuschwanstein Castle, which is considered one of the most beautiful castles in the world.
Track 2 takes advantage of the opportunity and roams more extensively through the hilly Allgäu. Along the western shore of the Rottachsee, we circle the very idyllic Bodelsberg military training area before we come back to Track 1 at the Weißensee.
Day 4: Füssen — Garmisch-Partenkirchen
The last stage of our Germany tour leads through the impressive mountain world of the Bavarian Alps. From Füssen, the route takes you along quiet paths through forests and valleys, past crystal-clear lakes such as the Forggensee. The view of the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain, accompanies you again and again on this section. Shortly before Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the landscape becomes more alpine and the majestic mountains come closer. Once you arrive in Garmisch, the tour ends in one of the most beautiful regions of Bavaria, where you can end the trip with a walk through the picturesque old town or a visit to the famous Partnach Gorge.
Track 2 is not satisfied with today's short stage and makes a wide detour around the Staffelsee and Murnau, which is ideal for a break. Then it goes via Bad Kohlgrub and Oberammergau to the end of the tour in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
