Tourbeschreibung

Track 2 biegt hinter Kortrijk in Richtung Gent ab.

As often as possible we will stop at nice places for a short break and refill our rations. At midday we will have a longer lunch break.
Normally we will cycle on track 1a. But we will discuss after our daily stage which track we will cycle on the next day.

We would like to reserve some places in this team to people interested in Internet of Things and working at Vodafone, NetComm Wireless and other places. For this reason we would like to ask you to check for free seats prior to registration.

Certainly we want to completely forget about work during the event and rather concentrate on cycling, nice refreshment breaks and great fun and friendship on the tours! I would like to aim for an all day average speed of 20 to 22 km/h and you should be comfortable with cycling constantly for 2-3 hours. Breaks are important and I am planning to have longer stops for refreshment every 40 km or so.

The team is open for all types of bicycles from race bike to trekking or MTB. We will choose track number 1, not mind any gravel paths as an alternative for asphalt roads and we want to stay away from excess car traffic. Since we will have international participants the team language will be Germish 

We can assure we won’t be the fastest team. Neither the slowest. But there is something we can definitely guarantee: joining our team will not make you loose weight while riding a bike, since we love beer more than anything else in the world. We will forget about the bike as soon as we are thirsty and get a pint (or two). First things first.
You will also love the fun and the laughs along the way and we will enjoy the quiet landscape all together.
We will ride for a good cause and we are more than happy to welcome new riders to join our team. Looking forward to seeing you all pretty soon in London!

I had the great opportunity to join the first GBI edition, from Dusseldorf to Newbury and I guess there will be a particular feeling in this celebrative tour, for everybody. This is an international Team, where we ride on racing bike, just to have fun, enjoying the ride and the sightseeing; we'll stop for short break, we'll arrive together. The key idea is to cycle together and have fun, both of them at the same time. Average speed is approximate, depending on the day route… and how was the day before…or next day. Stops are decided more or less on the fly, more often before we feel hungry or tired, and if we feel fresh nice and easy we may delay it and keep going, decided by group consensus. We welcome anyone wishing to cycle with us, as long as he/she is able to cycle and laugh, tell jokes, etc. By the way, the team name comes from a cycling event in the Pyrenees: a tour-de-france stage opened to amateurs crossing several colls.

Joining the team probably won't allow you to achieve the original GBI goal of losing weight while riding a bike because we like beer more like anything else. So we are prone to leave as soon as we are thirsty to get a pint (or two).
But you'll love the fun and the laughs while enjoying the views in a quiet way. We ride for a good cause and are more than happy to welcome new riders to the team. Hope to see all you soon in London!

Start together – arrive together: Everyone needs to master climbs and descents on its own comfort speed. However we are waiting for each other after these challenges and will adapt speed on remaining flat segments to the group performance. We ride roadbikes mainly.

Brand new team. Dutch cyclists (men and women) on the loose in the hills. Are we fast or slow? We’ll simply give it a go and see how the team develops. No need or pressure to go fast. Priority is that everybody has a great time and gets there in one piece, by working together and enjoying the ride and GBI spirit. If the team is up for a fast ride, we’ll go ‘volle bak!’, but whenever needed we’ll wait for each other to stay together and arrive as a team. For registration, please contact Jouel Petit.

We love biking and our primary goal is to have fun and be safe. We intend to ride with a normal tempo in order to discuss and enjoy the countryside view. However, there are some strong riders participating the team that might “boost” us occasionally.
We will have short stops whenever we feel tired and one long will take place for lunch. Average speed will be 27 km/h. Track 1&2, tarmac only!

I am from Germany, 47 years old and I’m a proud owner of recumbent tricycle.

We are going to start at 9am in the morning each day. We will cycle 18 km/h in average, uphill my tricycle will slow down a little bit.

Every 20-25 kilometers we will stop for a 5 to 10 minutes break and will have only short lunch breaks. If we are good in time I would suggest a longer break for a drink 1-2 hours before arriving.

Open team!

The ultimate policy is to cycle the distance quick enough to save time to enjoy breaks. We will have short breaks every 30 Km for stretches and nutrition and will stop long for lunch. We will enjoy the views and shoot videos and photos while cycling. This team is based on high spirit and members supporting each other in case of any technical issues.
